Regan Hunter Heath

Life with 47 Chromosomes

The start of a wonderful life

Regan was born on Sunday February 20,2005. He weighed 5lbs 11 oz and was 19 inches long. Shortly after he was born we noticed that his little toe was webbed to the other after checking with the nurses they said the doctor would be in to see us shortly. Ricky and I had no idea that what he would tell us would change our lives forever. The doctor came in and just got right to the point." Your child has all the characteristic's of a down syndrome child". Words that will ring in my ears forever.  After that I personally can't remember what was said or when he left the room it was all a blur. March 10th we finally got the labs back from Birmingham. Regan's doctor wasn't in the office that day so I cried on the nurse until she talked another doctor into telling me the results.

The rest of this site will let you see into how wonderful, exciting and normal Regan's life is. I hope that we can all learn from him.

From the time Regan was six weeks old he was involved in Physical, Occupational and Speech therapy as well as Special instruction. We all took part in helping Regan reach each milestone and were amazed when he began sitting up at 8 months, crawling at 10 month, cruising furniture at 14 months and walking at 16 months 2 weeks.  We have had an amazing group of people come into our life since Regan was born and we are so thankful that you have given us your love and support these last three years.
